Thread regarding Norfolk Southern Corp. layoffs

Strike Now

We need a major shift if we plan on keeping future jobs at the railroads in general. Pay attention the company is setting up SGL’s and WGL to take place of union employees. We all as a whole need to be beating the drum to strike. Our union leaders are worthless, they are playing both sides which is hurting our brothers and sisters on our level. We should all see the bigger picture, they don’t care and neither should we. Strike,Strike,Strike. Before it’s to lasted. Right now they still need us.

All unions of the railroad would have to give 60 day notice of strike . And what principal would you strike on ? You cannot wildcat...…. educate yourself.

News Flash genius.
The air traffic controllers had a provision in their contract that they could not strike. They did it anyway and then wouldn’t return after given notice. I agree that the unions are in bed with the company and are very weak. They don’t want to do the hard work of a strike only to be forced back to work by court order so they just roll over every contract and tell us to be glad we have a job while collecting our money.

your wrong WGLs and TGLs are somebody. they do the work members won’t and fight for the work. if anybody knows why we are loosing jobs it’s them. they see first hand the reason. the laziness and backstabbing sabotage the craft is doing. they will bring the company to its knees but that’s the plan. the union has no future in this business anymore it can all be contracted out. nice work ladies and gentlemen you ruined another industry. when will you learn. history is repeating and the unions loose every time. we are too divided to make any real demands or a difference. it’s over they win, they will deplete our funds by furloughed members. we have lost the will to fight for what our past has won for us. you should all be ashamed of what you have turned organized labor into.

The unions are to weak to strike anymore. All the unions in the railroad have piss poor leadership. They just use scum like craft employees to steal money from that’s it.

SGL’s and WGL’s all transition into company, it’s what the company wants, if they can get enough on board it won’t matter if we try to lay down or Strike.

Read Taft-Hartley Act & The Railway Labor Act , before you strike. Educate yourself before you speak. Remember the Airtraffic controllers and Pres Reagan .How that turn out? If every Union in the country would have striked the results would be different.

divide and conquer.. pit factions against each other. get brother to brother to turn on themselves. the survivors in this battle will emerge as the new more flexible laborers. all craft work rolled up into one. this is the future, this is how contract labor survives in this industry. enter the super craftsman jack of all trades. evolve yourself into this and take control of the future unionized worker. let’s make ourselves invaluable to the company. it’s much harder to get cheap unskilled workers to do what one super craftsman can do. time to get up dust off our old ways and fight for our futures or get out of the way of progress and keep complaining and doing everything we can to make the man bend. this has never been sustainable. we are and continue to keep fighting the same battle and have learned nothing. this issue needs a new response our we will keep getting the same results as the last 150 years. so educate, evolve and prosper. a union without a company contract is nothing but a hall full of good intentions starving.

The union is in bed with the company. Look at the contract; theres not even a closed shop rule anymore. Scabs have been working right along side us.

They won't strike and neither will you because the union has no backbone and the people that post here is just as bad to scared to even identify themselves
