I was let go because I refused to be a slave and do an unlimited amount of overtime. If you are salaried they will think that they own you completely and Global Payments will want all of your time – forget nights and weekends, you will be working all the time.
They love folks on H1B visas as they have no other option than to work – if they do not work 24/7 they send them back home and they lose visa – so, if you are put in a team with a ton of H1Bs and a manager that’s on a visa, they will work you so hard you will want to leave on your own.
The company has a motto: “People First” – I can tell you this is all fluff as they do not care about people, otherwise they’d control the amount of OT.
Finally, I always hated working across different time zones, you’ll have plenty of that at Global Payments – not fun when you need to take a 5 a.m. call or an 11 p.m. meeting, they’d still expect you to show up for work at 8 a.m.
