Thread regarding Rent-A-Center Inc. layoffs

bad timing

Some real bad timing for rac on the stock market. What will customers do with the tax return $$$, pif or keep renting? My money is on return and save the money while reducing their debt.

Rac is in for a bad 2nd qtr. Dont forget about high delinquency due to Corona virus fears

I love reading all the posts, my Company is paying me to stay home and be safe AND not to bring the virus home to my family. Rac maybe essential and good for them but liquor stores are too. For all the coworkers who do not like working at rac, look for other jobs, they are out there for you. Leaving rac is like being reborn! There is no amount of money that can bring a loved one back or time lost with family. Good luck rac, you will need for the very tough times that await you .

For the lady who refrigerator went out, So happy we were still there for her. For the parents forced to home school without laptops or desktops, happy we were there for you. For the people talking c-ap ( probably working at " the other place") , which I hear you are doing pretty bad right now,.. RAC, the oldest rent to own company around..is still keeping it's promise to deliver! It is still taking every precaution. And no, not tucking and hiding. Our customers still need us! Just like they needed the grocery store. The items they are requested is proof. I read every single comment. Must have come from a disgruntled employee who "didnt make the grade" or the competition that has no class. RAC will keep doing for our customers and follow guidelines of our government. # Have a nice day & be blessed.

F— Rac I work there for two years and they only care for their own. I saw lots of VIPs getting lay off all the time and so the little guys in the bottom. They don't care about anyone except their business. Don't trust them to have a secure job because they will fire your a– anytime for anything stupid.

I know many of you are not surprised about how rac is handling this crisis. RD and VP are home, some dms but the rest are left at risk. Rac has never lived up to thier mission statement, they only look out for the few. For those of you looking to get out of rac, now is the perfect time for you. I am so thankful that I do not work there, the Company I work for values it's coworkers AND customers. Take care of your coworkers and they will take care of your customers!

Rac is screwed, this covid will cause alot of delinquency, lots of charges off, thousands of acts picked up, thousands in extensions, let alone benifits plus being overloaded unable to pay all the claims. They are forcing employees to still work even tho several governors have said to close all non essential. Somehow corporate still thinks they are deemed essential bc they carry appliances that customers wont be able to afford due to all the business closure. In order to take the time off now, they are forcing employees to sign temporary termination and will not fight paying out unemployment. I think rac knows this will k–l them and are trying to get employees to lay themselves off or risk your life to still go door to door doing collections. I don't see this ending well for them

Mortgage and auto loans will recover 1st, personal and credit cards next. Rto and payday loans maybe never... Sad but that is the reality, lots of good folks at rac and not so good folks. You know who they are.

Can you guys be any happier? There are livelihoods at stack for the employees. We expect a downturn, just like every other business in America. If the government keeps taking COVID seriously, then it should be a short term situation. Our financials have been very strong in the past six quarters and it won’t take much to right the ship.

Here is what I know about rto customers, if you let them get behind on payments they never catch up and eventually they stop paying. I see BIG problems coming for the rto Companies.

Those stockholders that are long are taking a beating, they are probably rac haters too. There were a few comments on here that warned them about the stock decline. Based on what I know about rac, 2nd and 3rd qtr are tough, no rebound coming.

My money is on the customer will not pay and skip! Skip is rac jargon used when a customer does not pay and the account is written off as bad debt. Accounts must be 90 days past due to be charged off, however not everyone follows the rules.
