Thread regarding Giant Eagle layoffs

Coronavirus Response

I have to say Giant Eagle's response to its "Team Members" has been horrible. They are yet to do anything for the Team Members working in the stores. If you ask about a Team Member getting sick from the virus and having to miss work they are told contact the Team Member Care Fund.
They haven't even offered Team Members a pair of gloves to wear.

You know its all about money when one of the Executives says "This is better then Christmas". A sad bunch of Executives running the company.

If I get it can I file worker’s comp or maybe sue the company for requiring me to ring a register for 8 hours with no protection whatsoever

First off the Team Members working in the stores are exhausted. Over the last month the majority of the Team Members had hours cut back so bad they couldn't afford to live. Now Giant Eagle is asking everybody to work as much overtime as possible because the "Customer are depending on Giant Eagle."

And second so many Team Members have been exposed to the coronavirus over the last few days they don't even know it yet and Giant Eagle could care less because the money is rolling in and there will be a time very soon they will have to shut down because the virus will be so widely spread.

Oh and what store is the owners daughter helping out at??

Anyone know if you can file worker’s compensation should you catch it, considering the company required us to knowingly work in specificity dangerous environments such as this?

When will company executives who believe in "trickle down" economics wake up and realize the way way to make more money and provide a better culture is to invest in the the horses that pull the wagon.
