Just wondering how the morale is? Are the X-Union Gas employees feeling the Enbridge pressure or axe? Pension, salary and benefit changes always s—s!

union gas has always been toxic, nepotism running wild, management incompetency and favoritism are the common threads. management relies on cozying up to union representatives, and if you're not in the click, its hell in their presence.
Depends on how you look at it. Considering they mashed two companies together without a lot of forethought, I would actually say it has been less painful than expected. There is no question that Union Gas was far better “pre-Enbridge” in every possible dimension I can of, however. Union Gas was a much more respectable company to work for, better work environment, better leaders, more clarity in accountabilities, less annoying power struggles... and most of all, WAY less interference from the parent company. I find the LEGD people to be mostly good - there are a few derps but that’s true of UG as well. Corporate “Inc” and the Shared Services however - wow, I have truly never encountered such widespread incompetence. I truly don’t understand how the company hasn’t burned to the ground, and I’m not being dramatic. And I mean, I can tolerate incompetence if there is an attempt to learn and get better, but I see no such efforts - it’s all arrogant incompetence which is especially nefarious. Anyway, I think LUG people need to realize that the true enemy is not LEGD - most of the decisions we hate didn’t come from EGD, they came from chumps in Alberta who are completely oblivious to the world changing around them. I spent some time in Calgary recently and everything suddenly made sense to me - they are id–ts. It’s the explanation behind all of the illogical things that come across our desks. No fancy conspiracies - no secret plans to screw us all over - they actually just aren’t very smart on the whole. Thanks for listening to my Ted Talk :)
Enbridge s—s and has ruined Uniongas’ good reputation! Enbridge doesn’t care about customers! All they care about is money!
There are so many people that have the golden handcuffs. I have anxiety everyday and just wish they would lay me off.
Had district manager tell us we need to set career goals and plan for the future, GFY LS, you can't tell me what I'll be doing next year, like hell am I leaving the union.
Morale at an ultimate low. As a field employee the not knowing what work I'll be doing is a drain. The UG education center is no longer training new usrs, retirees are not being replaced, got a manager saying we will look like enbridge (no meter work = contracors). LUG used to be top 100 employer, doubt you'll see that again. The direction (if you call the unknown a directon) this new company is going I hate. But like another post I read, golden handcuffs keeps me waiting for the hammer to drop
