Does the company have any future? Do the leaders have any vision? Do we have a reason to stay at the company if we are not laid off? There are so many questions I do not sense anything positive about. How do we work with a constant fear of getting cut off. ABSOLUTE CARNAGE!!

There is no WE any longer it's them vs. Us. Its sad as many of us have drank the koolaid believeing in Us and togetherness.
Don't get your panties in a bunch. They do this every 4 years, then say "we didn't anticipate this, the market shrunk faster than we expected". It's a bold faced lie, everyone with half a brain knows this market is cyclical. As they see it, they're trimming the fat (for the most part). Unfortunately there are some solid engineers that get wrapped up in it too. We're all just a number.
"Even the career prospects are weak its all a big family run business with incompetent managers across the board". I would say it's not really a business but a place that subsidize those friends and family members of the community that need a job and that is why they tend not to say anything because they are holding on with their fingers this job and without it they would be a farmhand and/or working at Walmart. For a company that is a fortune 300 company and is public you would think much of their dirt would be outed from the nepotism to d–g dealing/using of some exempt if not their friends to things that are said that is racists or s-xists.
Exactly! I was let go in 2015 after being ranked a high pot the previous year, and I had 2 people working for me that were in the employee improvement program for poor performance who are still there today! I was there for over a decade and just thrown out. I posted a negative review on Glassdoor, that was politically correct, but just told it like it was and it conveniently never showed up. No reason to remain loyal to this company.
and keep in mind places like Glassdoor, the posts are controlled and monitored by Cummins employee. They are called digital media brand engineers and work at Cummins to protect brand.
Very well said. They make you move to middle of no where in the corn fields and after they are done with you , you are left out to dry. When everyone joins Cummins the picture presented is all good with a week long orientation. Not a single word about lay-offs in this whole week its all ethics, diversity etc etc. All the job boards and university’s must be informed about this toxic work culture. If anyone has a job offer from this company and is waiting to join. I sincerely request you rethink. Even the career prospects are weak its all a big family run business with incompetent managers across the board.
