Thread regarding LogMeIn layoffs

Layoffs this week?

Expect layoffs this week

I found this in an old thread, but it was posted less than a day ago. Not sure if this is true or somebody is trolling, but if anybody knows more about this, can they please share it with us? Sadly, I'm inclined to believe something is really coming and that's not helping my anxiety levels.

It's really simple, they will continue to invest but not in USA. Hiring is now all in Canada and other part. Underperforming product get less spending.

It cost much less to have dev (salary, health insurance) here and they likely profit a lot from a Canadian tax credit program:

Some folks might work remote where office are closed.

It’s not just the former Citrix/Santa Barbara office. People from Boston are being laid off too. The PE reaper cometh. Some friends’ last day is tomorrow... not everyone is getting 60 days

You'd have to be living under an lmi rock the last few years to not know the unemployment reaper would eventually come for you and your department, especially in Santa Barbara. You think a PE wants to continue wasting money on CA business taxes, all the while holding on to some prime Santa Barbara commercial real estate that's probably worth almost as much as one of LMI's individual offerings?

If I were still with LMI, and had been there more than 4 years, I'd ride it out til the end. Apparently they're still to this day (2/12) giving people up to 60 days notice and more importantly, a potent severance.

If you got your walking papers, enjoy that sh– and plan your next move. Most places don't give that much notice, and the job market is great these days, and you're gonna walk away with a nice chunk, plus unemployment.

The sun'll come out, tomorrow....
