Now that we know the merger is going to go through when can we expect layoffs to start? I think we'll see more cuts than T-Mobile so I plan to be prepared if my name is on the list.

The only employees protected in this merger are California employees because of the state agreement. Though that only covers employees in good standing whatever that means...
Will it be this Friday?
I worked at Sprint corporate but out in the field for 13 years. I still know people still working for Sprint and I hear Sprint is treating Sales people in the field unequally when it comes to compensation. People that are doing the ‘exact’ same job with some people having their monthly bonus paid out at a guaranteed payout at 100% and they work from home.
While others are being kept in the field with their bonus paid out at their different stores performance based on sales that are paying out at 40%. This has nothing to do with Sprint Corporate retail store sales. I think there are laws against that. I know there are discussions between human resource and sales with regards to this very topic.
My recommendation for those that this is happening to is to lawyer up before you sign their papers when they are let you go. If anyone knows any good Law firms bring this to their attention maybe a civil lawsuit is in order. I know Sprint loves those because Sprint has had so many because of the way they have mistreated employees since the Nextel meger in 2005 thanks to gary foresee, lasted 8 years and saw a lot of this.
I was let go when I hit 55 and I was at the top of the salary range, retired and very happy no regrets.
May everyone be safe during trying time.
They are planning to lay off 80 % of contractors in the next weeks and every one by July.
I have heard Verizon is planning a major layoff 3rd QTR of 2020, after the majority of their 5G sites have been deployed, Verizon Wireless uses a ton of contract help for network and real estate deployments.
Per a PowerPoint we were shown today, "Contractors expected to roll off substantially by day 0 (non-essential; fully by day 1 (essential).
Sprint has many, many contractors. Those contractors contracts are only good through 3/31 and management will not say what the plan is. At this point many of the contractors believe they'll be let go on 3/31 and Sprints staff will be reduced by 40% or more.
I’d expect summer you will start to see positions vanish into thin air. The retail stores will take the biggest hit with the surplus of employees not needed.
Verizon does no want or need anyone from Sprint to screw up the Verizon network.
I don't expect any layoffs until 4th Q 2020 - TMO will need to access what they have, their qualifications and then determine who and how many are needed.
Maybe AT&T or Verizon will be hiring experienced people...
