Thread regarding Syniverse Holdings Inc. layoffs

Syniverse Layoffs March 2020

Layoffs are coming again, this time the company cannot wait until the typical June month, they will start in March.

Dean Douglas the CEO says we are a software company now but we have more VP’s and Directors than developers, this is how far out of touch he is.

I don't know if Syniverse reads these but I'm a T-Mobile employee and need to contact Syniverse from time to time regarding messaging issues. I do work the late shift and thought they were a 24/7 company but apparently no one answers the phone at 2-4 am. Not sure what's going on over there but I have made my manager aware of this,

Syniverse is a joke from the bottom to the top employees. First customer contact is with the customer support team who understands NOTHING about their products. I don't know how many people are working for free by working from home and either sleeping, watching tv, doing things around the house and letting calls sit there due to not paying attention. Management knows this and does nothing about it and other workers who have ethics are doing the job for them. Wonder how they evaluate their teams performance, I don't think they do or even care. Numbers are wrong and probably made up to look like their customer service is awesome. So many calls have been dropped or not answered at all. Now with most working from home due to covid, the laziness must be running rampant. Let's not forget that all jobs are being sent to other regions, mostly Costa Rica where the pay is c-appy and laws are very lenient.

Man this layoff rehirer and repeat seems to be a cycle that has been repeating itself for the last 5 or 6 years. I wonder if 2021 will be the year of change

I'm a few months late, but I was part of the early April layoffs. There was close to 50 people that got laid off alongside of me, some career Syniverse people with 20-30 years with the company, Project Managers, Engineers, IT Security, PR people...no one was spared. A contact at the company I've stayed in touch with confirmed 2 more layoffs occurred, one in late April and another in May. A couple of ex-associates have jumped the sinking ship and found other jobs (wish I could've done the same in hindsight, but I was assured I was "needed since dept was short staffed already". Being laid off during a pandemic & leaving so much of us uninsured..but "take advantage of the extra unemployment $$ the feds are giving weekly" was very classless & for all I care the ship can sink to the bottom of the corporate ocean for all I care!

Agree ... and:
2006: Evans received $700k in compensation (salary, bonus, other)
2015: Gray received $18m in total comp although the numbers didn't really improve

This company has been c-appy since Ed Evans left. Dean as of this day is longer there either. These new CEOs make their millions then run. Syniverse is a joke.
