With these layoffs will people get called back to work ? For an example maybe by fall or when ever. The info. that i heard is they are done for good . And they just randomly picked people . Not going by seniority or anything like that . And that they couldn't work for cummins again. This seems odd to me . The times where I've heard layoff it usually meant that yes we will be off work for awhile but hopefully be back to work in a few months. Not like we are lay off and cannot reapply . This seems odd to me.

Interesting that while they were announcing they will be firing 2000-3000 exempt employees, there were hundreds of people on LinkedIn bragging about the new roles they had just accepted with Cummins to start as soon as they graduated.. The should make all current and fired employees see exactly what was happening..
Layoffs if you take the package you are done for good. And you are walked out like a criminal...
No respect at all.
Kinda funny they let people go but have a ton of jobs posted online why couldn’t some of these people you screwed be moved to one of these jobs but I guess you would rather ruin someone’s life
very interested to know how they hourly cuts never made the news. They had it all over the news in Indiana that they would layoff 2,000 exempt employees, does anyone have a guess how many hourly employees have now been let go?
In order to accept your severance package, you sign an agreement to never attempt to rehire there. It is not a "layoff" by any means.
Why the [email protected] would you even wanna come back after being fired/laid off. They literally treat you like a criminal. Be honest with yourselves here. You get escorted off the property, after being employed with the same company for 20+ years. No thanks. It's an absolute joke. Everything in this company is absolute bull$#it.
You see it sounds better in the media when they say and even us say it's a layoff because people assume as you did that they would be able to come back when conditions are good. These are salary positions and if they say the words these people are being fired because of conditions then it makes cummins and companies look bad and also It makes the federal govt. look alot closely at your operation if your saying I'm sacking 2,000 people or more they may want to see if your following federal guidelines and such.
Hourly you get laid off but they can be fired too if a business is in dire need.
You are not rehire able which is a bit crazy for tech positions since those are hardest to fill and most needed. This is a RIF not a layoff.
Yep. Your done with them. Being a manager just recently let go Thursday, I tried to bring back an employee from the RIF we performed 3 years ago and told not rehireable.
From what I was told if you got dismissed you are listed as NOT Eligible for rehire ever again no matter your talent or your position within the company.
