Lord and Taylor garden city and Manhasset locations just let go over 100 employees this month. And the people they kept... well let’s just say “ it’s not what you know , but who you know”. I’m glad I’m out, it’s a sinking ship. Good luck to those left to deal with what’s left there! Not nice how they say your job is gone and rush you out of the building. Loyalty after years of service seems to mean absolutely nothing. We are are just a number. Driving to work in dangerous snow storms, working sick as a dog, working holidays and nights and weekends away from our family . It all means nothing. Screw you L & T!

Horrible place to work. Glad to be out of there. Feel sorry for some of the employees who were there for a long time who were nice and will now be unemployed. As others have written, most of the managers were pathetic and clueless about how to treat employees and customers. I also agree there was lots of prejudice aimed at both employees and customers. The most inept and nasty employees and managers had job security while there was a revolving door of truly kind and good workers.
Sad to see an iconic store close but I have to say many of the workers and almost all of the managers in manhasset and garden city Long Island (especially in cosmetics), were THE worst. Age discrimination, overall prejudice and obnoxious “could care less” attitudes about their customers or employees were rampant. The cosmetic managers (counter mgrs and dept ones) were awful. Garden City ones were as bad as it gets. The only good thing I can say about manhasset store was they had a great shoe dept and salespeople.
Liquidating all stores .... what a shame.
There is a lot of prejudice in lird and taylor that other employees know of but do not talk about. Age and race discrimination is rampant. I worked in westfield and believe me. It s—ed. Theres also crooked police in the town. Google it!! Coveri ups

The executive office team had tons of clothes on hold on the backs of the doors, they wait for all the stuff to go on clearance then buy it, the so called event coordinator tries clothes on all day up there, makes personal calls and doesn’t know what day of the week it is. The hr person is extremely condescending to employees and she swipes out for 5 minutes lunch every day and gets away with it, the 2 mangers left sit upstairs all day and boss around the supervisors and rising stars who run the floor. They are seen on the floor maybe 1/2 hour a day tops including the store manager. There’s no development, no dialogue. I understand these 2 geniuses were from merchandising and visual backgrounds. They have absolutely no people skills with customers nor the employees. Get set up 👍👍👍
lord and taylor Scarsdale layed off 80 people in one day and im told there will be round two coming soon. i only miss people i worked with not the store! remember we were just a number to them. imagine being called on your vacation while you are away somewhere? Really? Am told its still dead there just about every day and everyone there can see the writing on the wall time will tell

Well well it seems as though the posts from yesterday about Ridgewood have magically disappeared 🤷🏻♀️ Could the GM be reading them and realize their store is a disaster . Let’s just see how long it takes for the store to close.
They are deleting comments when people speak the truth. How petty and cowardly. But the truth will come out eventually anyway.
Lord and taylor manhasset is all about favoritism. If you are the same nationality as the GM of the store your are good. The GM is a nasty mean spiteful vindictive psycho bully who has created a hostile work enviornment and treats employees with little to no respect. if you try to talk to her about an issue she will rudely cut you off and make you feel inferior. She has no class and is fake as hell. The only manager who hasn't been fired is from her race and she too is a mean sadistic woman who yells at employees on the floor and plays favorites. This person was actually promoted to manager with zero managerial skills. The customers are unhappy and so are most of the sales force. The store will go down because of low morale poor management terrible selections and not enough sales help since people are constantly being fired. It is the worst and most demeaning job I ever had. I stayed because I liked helping customers and my co workers were so nice. However I feel bad for the remaining employees who are living in fear of being let go. Honestly the store has no future. It's boring and slow as hel anywayl since there are hardly any customers. Get out of here while you can because you don't matter. Then again neither do they.
