Thread regarding Briggs & Stratton Corp. layoffs

Briggs & Stratton Layoffs 80 people

Even though I've dedicated my life to this company I always knew that nobody is immune to layoffs... though admittedly I never imagined being laid off during a pandemic.

I don't know what Briggs & Stratton is going to do next. If you're somehow still working here all I can say is prepare for the worst... and good luck.

Hello,

My name is Joe Rennison and I am a reporter at the Financial Times looking at retention bonuses paid to senior management of companies that shortly after filed for bankruptcy. Briggs&Stratton's chief exec received close to $1m before the company filed for bankruptcy. If any former workers are willing to talk to me about their contrasting fate - my understanding is the company cut health benefits for a number of former workers before filing for bankruptcy - then please reach out on joe.rennison@ft.com. I understand that this can't be an easy time and speaking to journalists is unlikely to be a priority but any information you can give to help me accurately portray the current situation would be appreciated.

Thank you!

Joe
