Thread regarding Seagate Technology Inc. layoffs

How deep lay off going to be?

There is no doubt lay offs will be around the corner, wondering how deep it is going to be. What about LCO? What about Dothill? Only managers please.

Speculating LCO can be shut down in the near future is delusional. There is design engineering activity done there with no redundancy in the company. May as well exit the HDD business.

Will any employee in Shanghai China be laid off?

They've been rumored to shut down SHK or LCO almost every time there's a downturn.

They moved the whole EDW to LCO, so if they had to make a choice, I'd wager SHK would go first, unless of course they move it all to Shugart in which case either could go.

What makes you think managers know anything? These decisions get made above their level. They might learn 24-72 hours before something hits.
