Take the deal, run, never look back. The sad thing is that when you do go, you will be replaced by a contractor.
Be happy you had a 30+ year career. In the future many of us will be downsized before we get to see those kind of services numbers ever again.

My crystal ball predicts that In many years down the road, ECorp will try to claw back all of our pensions for some reason.

Wont know how enhanced the pa kage will be but it normally started out at 3 weeks. The info page stated 16 - 104 weeks. The 104 wont be common. It would be a bridge for those 2 yrs from retirement

The comments in this thread indicate a massive recruitment failure. Seems that we’ve hired the most entitled group of individuals you could find. This company can’t seem to do anything right. They decide to avoid doing lay-offs at a time when unemployment is at a record high and do a voluntary program and still lots of whining and complaining. This is a company that way over pays at least 50% of its workforce and all they do is complain about everything the company does. Get a clue people. Most of the employees should count their lucky stars they work here and stop complaining. And if you are so unhappy about where you work, now is your chance to leave.

If you got the email saying you are ineligible does that mean you are exempt from layoffs or just exempt from the “generous” lay-off package?

Didn't get an email, but our People Leader went over the org chart for our department at EGD. My name is on it in a new role Guess I have to stay. But still confused as to whether I can apply for packages as they would not answer that question. Makes no sense to have new org chart but not clarify package eligibility
