Thread regarding Valero Energy Corp. layoffs

2020 Layoffs

Fellow Valero employees, prepare for layoffs next month. It's unfortunate to deliver this message anonymously.
The refinery & financial industry will be having this immensely huge impact. Prepare or look elsewhere for, employment opportunities.

Wishing you all best of luck, during these dark times.

So 9 months after this post, we know that some employees over 60 accepted an early retirement package, but no one was laid off.

layoffs were done / early retirements ... however you want to spin it Valero... But in the end it is just another pandemic impact. Refiners will need to be lean and keep the employees that get the work done not the ones that are their golfing buddies.... but time will tell. While Valero is a great company like all places there are dark secrets and misbehaviors covered up by HR. Always keep yourself as #1 priority because in the end their will always be a replacement whether cheaper or less experienced they will do what they need to do for the bottom line.. it's life... sadly

Don't believe all the fear mongering and rumors, as there are no layoffs happening at Valero, and they just gave a 2% raise to employees.

Its actually true... Valero will begin to layoff the employees at SA corporate office, and will also be doing salary cuts. This shouldn't be a surprise at all. The petroleum industry is suffering to the fullest.. They will start with management first, since they get the big bucks, and they work the least.
I agree, Valero is a great corporation to work for, however when a company is in crisis, and its not generating the funds that was generating before, thats when lay off happens... Just pray all this nightmare evaporates.

I expect another message from our leadership in the coming days on their commitment to the employees – even us hourly ones. They have been nothing but amazing through this. I was sent home to work and although I can't do 100% of my job from here, I am still being paid. This company cares!
