Thread regarding Denbury Resources Inc. layoffs

Wasting Millions on Nonsense

Denbury stock price is tanking, oil prices are tanking, Covid19 is k–ling the US economy, but Denbury continues to waste money on nonsense like SAP, Geotabs, Lone Worker Devices, Ipads, etc. How did these id–ts in upper management ever get there? They are destroying Denbury!

Billy Bob’s Tomato Plant and Farmers Only must be doing something right..neither one is seeking debt advice from outside sources.

Anyone who thinks we can “just put in this other system because my brother billy bob that works at the tomato plant said so” and all of our problems goes away needs to go back to posting bright ideas on farmers only.com

Anyone who thinks that more work has been done since SAP was implemented is either stupid or living in a fantasy world.

So what are the reasons for Denbury’s current state and there is more economical software
out there that can achieve the same results as
you have described.

True enough

But if you look at the progress that was made one could say that without stopping double billing , erroneous invoices getting paid , efficient scheduling , good preventative maintenance you would have went bankrupt a long time ago.

Not all regions made the same progress though. You can also say that if they would have some things would be different

But complaining that some of your best practice business process is why you are going bankrupt is just ridiculous. You would be better off spreading conspiracy theories on Facebook than trying to convince anyone of this.

There are reasons to explain the short comings that contributed to current state , but this is not it

Denbury wasn’t trading in the cents or on the verge of filing for bankruptcy either back in 02.How can a company be so efficient and practically financially ruin with enormous debt at the same time.It just doesn’t add up.

Eh. SAP is a great system. It is the only way you can truly track and audit your spend. I guess the ones complaining didn’t think their was anything wrong back in 02 when money was just walking out the door. Back before their was anything in place

And as far as it kicking out something that didn’t need to be done and WO’s not in for things that did. Well it’s just a machine. It can’t fix stupid , but it can shine a light on it pretty easy. So if you don’t set it up or use it correctly and then just complain about it, Who’s fault is it really ??

Trust me I saw the company prior to it and after. It’s more efficient after. But if your complaining because your actually expected to do work and then held accountable. Maybe your part of the problem

Denbury IS is full of c-ap. All good resource no longer there. Current IS resources are tail waggers and money s—ers. Fire that worthless VP and few of his bell boyz.

SAP would spit out work for me to do in the field that did not need to be done! While stuff that was broke or I could see need maintenance did not get worked on. But my boss got a bonus because all the SAP work was getting done. The person who entered it in SAP for us to do must have just moved from their management job at Burger King!

SAP was implemented back when everyone thought this would be a 150,000 BOE/d company by now. We would be fine with something like Enertia the way things played out.

Sad to say, but everything that was mentioned is exactly why Denbury is in financial ruin..people
who keep saying oh it’s just the price of oil is in complete denial of the actual truth.

SAP has always been a waste of resources, too much power and maintenance for such a small company. But how do you get out now?

Most of these things fall under IS which seem to push a lot of technology we don’t need.
