Thread regarding Bass Pro Shops layoffs

The company doesn’t care

Two of my coworkers were laid off on friday. Of course, the layoffs had nothing to do with the performance of these guys or their conduct at work. What sickens me the most is the fact that these guys, along with the rest of us are the people that are on the front lines, risking our lives and health to keep this company profitable., and that’s the way they thank us.
I’m also a long-timer at the company and there was a time when I loved my job here, but after moves like this all I can say is that this company will never have my trust anymore. I’m aware that this is the worst time to quit a job so I’m not thinking about it at this moment, but when the “ dust settles” I will surely be looking for another job.My advice to all my colleagues is to leave this sh–hole the moment they have the3 chance.

You can walk out , and go stand in the unemployment lines with the 7 million other people. No one makes you work there, I hear the grocery stores are hiring, or they need all kinds of people at the hospitals.

Smartest thing would be for every employee to pick a date and time and ALL walk out together, both BP and CAB. Leave the managers to fend for themselves. You all should be passing these issues on to the media. Bad press can be a great ally

I too am an long time "family member" yeah right and It is a sad day that this continues to be a trend with this place. And yet people continue to stay and be under appreciated while others reap the benefits of doing nothing good or productive for the company. Sad thing is the lay offs are purely arbitrary and not based on any criteria, tenure, performance etc. as you stated. I wonder what the BPS legal team is looking at or if they are even looking. Seems to be some high legal risk involved in the lack of criteria and more so who you are friends with in these decisions.
