Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Next round after Q4 earning

Firmed news that Q4 rev still have double digits down as Q3, guidance will be very weak due to the current situation. 90% we will be hearing top exe talk about people impact action in next earning release, right after people come back to office. Rumor is a 20% cut across all the teams. Starting LEETCODE and hunting early folks! job market is not good right now!

There are layoffs. We have lost 10 in the UK already.

Why are you bringing up Dell? You realize that to them you are a rounding error as it relates to revenue.

The Pure Storage trolls just can't stop posting on a NetApp board. As was stated before, NetApp is not laying anyone off for the next quarter - a commitment that Pure's leaders aren't making. You can keep trying to stir it up here but I'd suggest you spend your time updating your resumes.

You'll never know about the decision they made, never trust too much the promises from the exec people as are they are only following the big investors decision, or they will be replaced.
So maybe they want to believe that there will be no layoffs, but shylok Wall Street will reclaim a pound of flesh.

Pure is hiring data center sales and investing in a rapid recovery while larger companies are focused on cost optimizations. Pure is betting on being a disruptor while GK is betting on a shift to a cloud/opex model and hiring in cloud. The issue is his cloud and HCI teams have failed to deliver on their commitments on product capabilities and roadmap. GK is betting in another direction, time will tell if it is a good bet but execution with accountability is critical. The BU and leaders are making the mistakes but field/low level people are paying for them. HCI is cutting sales staff (told 3 weeks to find a new job) and a number of smaller products are being cut. AWS, Azure, Google, Red Hat and NVIDIA are hiring aggressively if your impacted.

For the comment below, if competitors would focus on their own business, no one would need to defend NetApp. These are reactions to bogus claims and responses are needed. Trust me, when there are layoffs at NetApp, you'll hear about in mass from affected employees. Thankfully, our leadership has stated clearly there will be no near-term layoffs.

Never saw so many netapp cheerleaders on this site. If everything is so rosy why worry if there are trolls? If you're so confident put down the pom poms and relax. Or is a bit of paranoia creeping in??

If only the Pure trolls spent more time innovating on their own technology rather than making up rumors here. There are no plans near-term for any layoffs. This has been widely communicated internally. Are there going to be changes down the road? Probably as there will be with all enterprise tech players. I'd go as far to say some of the smaller players may collapse or get acquired in fire sales. NetApp is in really solid shape financially, especially when compared to Dell, Pure, Nutanix or HPE. Anyone want to take odds if Nutanix or Pure exist as independent companies in a year?
