Thread regarding Shaw Communications Inc. layoffs

Here we go

It's ten percent now but if this continues I wouldn't be surprised to see that number increase significantly.

Calgary-based Shaw Communications announced Tuesday that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused the company to temporarily lay off 10 per cent of its workforce.

They are looking to downsize
It has nothing to do with money as the Company made 135 million last quarter .
More over there is not as much work for the office staff as they are not doing sales /installs anymore .
it has more to do with the company looking to cut costs
They are using this crisis to cut staff as an excuse
There business hasn't been impacted financially yet as everyone can still go online and the billing is done electronically .
They are asking for a REDUCTION in the technical workforce as well .
It seems this is and opportunity to save money .

Seems shameful that they look on this as an opportunity to save costs and lay people off when the best they could do for people would be to keep them working during this crisis.
