Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

Crotty has left the building!

He was brought in less than 1 year ago, now he's gone. Anyone know the inside scoop as to why a high-ranking sales and marketing executive like BC left? Or did he get fed up with the losing proposition called "Sungard Availability Services"?

Is hotsite still around? I remember giving this garbage away at a 90% discount 10 years ago

BC was in over his head. Nothing more, nothing less. He didn’t know an RTO from a PTO.

Do you think he saw the look of sheer despair in the whites of too many peoples eyes ?

And then jumped ship as soon as possible.

For those that have exited on your own terms and time; I tip my cap to you and well played.

For those who are hanging on in there waiting for the eternally promised turnaround; you seem to be stuck in the ‘ sunken place ‘ from the movie Get Out. Run before it’s too late.

At the very least make a plan, brush up your cv, make some calls, start the ball rolling, get some practice interviews under your belt.Do something before it’s done to you.

At the moment, you are all line items with a cost associated to it. It’s only a matter of time before your line gets highlighted for termination.

You’re right... no need for concern...nothing to see here....SGAS will rise from the ashes and become awesome. Good luck...

And, I don't disagree that the end is near, just pointing out that not everything is a conspiracy theory. Perhaps Mike didn't have the opportunity to put together a succession plan?

A ceo position is better than a CCO job, dumb–s.

The issue is not that they left, the issue is no replacements named.... all competent corporations have defined succession plans.... the fact they didn’t name replacements means either they did plan for this (bad news) or their roles were not deemed critical (worse news).

Maybe it's because he took the role of CEO at another company?

Chief marketing officer: gone. Chief sales officer: gone. No replacements named... this is the end game. Even OPG can’t spin this as a positive....
