Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

What’s Normal Severance Payout?

Anyone know what ENB offers for severance under the normal layoff scenario? How much of a premium is the current offer?

To be generous, an offer doesn’t have to ensure your entire future. Generosity is relative. And these offers are generous by any reasonable standard.

Your future is your problem to solve.

It's only generous if you are over 53. Under 53, too much loss in your pension and you better be able to get a similar paying ( or higher ) paying job to offset the pension loss. Good luck doing that in this job market.

Enbridge is the only one benefiting as they are saying with the future pension payouts

The current offer for employees on the Canadian mainline is... generous. I worked through it with an attorney. I can’t speak to the U.S. or Gd groups.

That is incorrect. The US severance is capped at 52 weeks. Legacy Spectra severance was capped at 104 weeks.

Correct. As well as an age adder over 50 and an adder if paygrade 510 or higher. For my case its 1.6 times what is normally offered

It’s different for each country, but last time I read it (2 years ago), it was 2 weeks per year up to 104 weeks in the US.
