Thread regarding Scientific Games Corp. layoffs

Does anyone think it’s over?

Still a lot out on furloughs, does anyone think or know that more layoffs are coming? Starting to seem that no one feels safe, the way this has been handled is going to change company culture for a long time.

I also heard that 15-20% RIF coming. That makes sense as to why salaries will go back in August, they have less to pay.

Good luck everyone.

They need to look at cutting departments. It is ridiculous that some departments have a VP with 3-4 directors...not needed. They can also restructure departments, like project management. embed the PM's in the departments they support and lay the directors and VPs off.

If you weren't called back to work by 6/15,,,you are not going to be called back

Net recall is supposed to be July 6th. I’m m hearing a RIF before if 15-20%. Makes sense, they can replace expensive US engineers with offshore engineers, and when the customer complains about product quality or knowledge, they can blame it on COVID19. A win-win. When Scientific Games bought Bally, they took a profitable, we’ll managed company and ran it into the ground with overwhelming debt, brain drain, and took advantage of the goodwill we had with our customers until they started actively looking at other systems.

But the majority stockholders were happy!

Far from it. In next 2-3 weeks, some RIFs are most likely.. hearing 15-20%

I agree. The gaming control board should have made masks mandatory for customers as well as employees. Zero spacing at downtown c-sinos. It’s already been an issue reported at some US c-sinos (AZ comes to mind). Time will tell. Fingers crossed for the next few weeks.

Shame on you Sandra Morgan & NGCB

It is not over. CV-19 will shut Vegas down again. I was at c-sinos and there is no social distancing. The temp check is a joke. I was waved in quickly and swear I was not checked. All machines where turned on and there was no spacing of players. The bars where packed. Nothing changed, just employees have a mask added to the uniform. Layoffs are coming again.

I think the company is getting used to working at reduce staff as there was so many people and there was duplicate else being burned. They really need to look at compliance project management product management game development and engineering and do some cuts

Oh I'm sure there will be more layoffs. I'm slightly curious to know when the "temporary" measures of "salary reductions" and "elimination of 401K match" will be reversed. If I were a betting man, my money would be on sometime between never, and never-ever.

Sci Games is like a black hole, that acquires prosperous companies, snuffs out any ambition and creativity of their employees, and slowly replaces them with poor under-paid recent college grads or over-seas employees. Product quality is an after-thought.

It all depends when the company needs you back (it is a business after all), some people are already back while others will be called back on an as-needed basis. Rumor has it many will be back in June. Just something I heard through the grapevine.

I have a feeling that there's going to be a lot of people not call back from furloughs. The bad thing is that all the vice presidents and directors will come back in his us people who are the worker bee jobs in the money it will be let go.
