Some parts of Inside Sales have been brought back, not all, hopefully soon.

Within the account management sales organization, furloughs are still in place for the vast majority, 50 percent or more. Unless you are an RVP or above everyone still fighting to survive the decrease in pay to take care of their families. Salespeople are getting busier but aren’t being brought back. Sycamore has some tough decisions to make and those decisions will be based on getting all of their investment back so controlling the expenses at this time will remain in effect. If you can get other equitable full time work, take it, if you can subsidize with part time work do it. The RVPs and above had very small furloughs to begin with and with the recent changes my bet is the ones remaining are back at 100 percent however their sales teams are not. Ride it out or take control of your own destiny and start looking at better options. Lots of companies are hiring, many people don’t want to go back to work as unemployment has been lucrative for some and they don’t have to work. I know the majority of the sales organization is not in that mindset. They want to get back to work and the unemployment is not subsidizing anything for them and not having an income is impacting them professionally, physically, and mentally as this continues to drag on. A phase back plan is needed. Every percentage will help. 25 percent in addition to whatever partial furlough would be a step in the right direction and it’s the right thing to do. Businesses are coming back when can we?

How are you watching SD's video? Is there somewhere besides the hub to watch it?

Hoping to hear something one way or another this week as promised. Being 100% 'furloughed' is hard. I am getting UI benefits and the cares act $ but it still leaves me in a precarious situation. contrary to a lot of posts here I like my job, I like Staples, but being in this waiting period is draining. I want the job i had back. But I am concerned that it wont come back (even though many of the 40% furlough folks have been brought back to 100% - managers mostly) I watched Sandy's Friday broadcast and didn't really get a warm fuzzy feeling from it

Listen folks. If you're in need of money, get work. Don't wait. An organization that doesn't profit from you (this is not a bad thing, it's just business) will find alternative means for revenue and profit. You should do the same to sustain your household.

Prioritize what helps you now. And then recalculate when and if things change. There's no shame in earning a living.

Last thing that Sandy or Joanne said was September for returns and Merit Increases. I don’t know if I can wait that long for my money to come back. I’m in one of those states that don’t pay unemployment unless you’re 💯 furloughed.

"100% furlughed here and have not heard from anyone since I was furloughed. Not sure what to think anymore."

Your boss was let go!

BTW - "furlughed" is furloughed

100% furloughed here, waiting anxiously to hopefully hear from my boss today. I just want to know if I’m going back to work next week or not. I’m getting scared.

Not a good sign... they said some would be brought back 6/1... seems like that was an easy way to get people out the door with some hope so they wouldn't freak out.... Has anyone heard anything this week?

SD said in an email last week "all managers are to check in with their furloughed employees this week". Did anyone get that call? I didn't

Watch SD's weekly update video and he clearly states that "tough decisions are still ahead." This basically leaves one to think that layoffs of furloughed employees are coming. I sure am glad my boss has checked on me this entire time...NOT!

Anyone hear about who is coming back after furloughs in Framingham? I work B2B and was told they might start bringing us back 6/1... thoughts?

"It’s sick to state these things during a crisis like this."

It's also sick to tell people "You're here because you are the best, are needed, and are the future of Staples".

And then let them all go (September 2019).

That's not being bitter or resentful! It's stating facts!

How do you know they got fired and “have their number” Are the postings not really anonymous?

Layoffs will be coming, though we don’t know when. It comes down to how big there is to the bottom line, and whether SP is willing to take reduced profits this year. It’s unlikely they will, as they have to pay their investors too.

They haven’t said a word either way.

@furloughed50, that person is a troll, doesn’t know sh– and uses this website to create fear by announcing a new lay off is coming...every month.Go back and look at the posts. We’ve got their number. It’s a sick game just because they got fired so this is their way to get back at people who still work at Staples. It’s sick to state these things during a crises like this.

Anonymous- what real info makes you expect layoffs in next 5-10 days? Anyone could say that and be right out of sheer luck

I expect a significant round of layoffs in the next 5-10 business days.

I know some of my coworkers have returned but I haven’t heard anything yet. They are keeping some people in the dark with all of this
