Has anyone heard or has a pharmacist friend affected by recent “market pay cuts” ?

We took an 11% paycut March 2020. We were inundated with flu shots Aug to Nov and now COVID vaccine arrived. We are doing 3x the work as before and cant even fill pr-scrip-ions in a timely manner. Corporate proudly announces all-time sales. Pretty discouraging

I'm a pharmacist for Hy-Vee and can tell you that our pay WAS cut. Most of us were cut $10-15 an hour. I now make what I made 8 years ago, so Hy-Vee has effectively erased almost half of my career gains so far. We no longer write our own schedules and have to drive all over the city to work at different locations since they have eliminated so many of our jobs. To top it off, they are getting ready to advertise these "drive-up" flu shot clinics which would require a pharmacist to be inside running the pharmacy and one outside giving shots. There aren't enough of us to do that, so now Hy-Vee is expecting us to work split shifts or volunteer to work extra shifts. We are not paid overtime for the extra shifts either. Corporate may have finally realized that there aren't enough of us, because they just gave the ok to hire part time pharmacists (at about $15 less than we make now) to work the clinics. A lot of us are too afraid to hire this "cheap" help for fear that we will basically be hiring our replacements. Hy-Vee will get rid of us and keep the temporary help permanently at the lower pay rate, since this is what Walgreens is doing. This is the company that I planned to retire with, but now am afraid my career/position will be eliminated in the next few years/months.

Yes. They put a pay cap on pharmacist salaries (staff pharmacists and pharmacy managers). Anyone currently making over those new caps were decreased to the pay cap effective Monday June 22. It no longer matters how many years you’ve worked at Hy-Vee or if you work at a really busy location or if you live in a large city with a higher cost of living - the maximum is the same. Some pharmacists are now suddenly making what they were paid 10-15 years ago.

Haven't heard anything about it. But I wouldn't put it past our current leadership being the greedy b–tards they are.
