I know someone in Corporate eliminated too. Know them very well as I work for ARAMARK This person made and saved ARAMARK /Client $$$ while in several positions over the years. High performer, high volume of work, respected mentor. He is now eliminated. Probably the most real person I ever knew during my time with ARAMARK.

This Company is literally a piece of c-ap. I know someone laid off that actually made them $$. This Company has zero compassion and only cares about top Execs. I understand it is a business, but during a time when people are truly struggling. It is horrible and they obviously do not believe in employee retention
A good chunk of people that were on furlough were laid off from HR. And new people seem to be safer than employees who have been there for years! Kept someone who started 4 months ago over someone with 20 years experience, also laid off someone pregnant and not on maternity leave thats been with company for 4 years. yet they are bringing back some people from furlough. Very terrible way for Aramark to treat employees, no email or documents sent with the exception of severance.
Corporate eliminated at least 200, mostly Directors and Managers. Of course still too many AVPs and VPs. VPs protected their favorite AVPs. This group not impacted. The excellence group was kept even though least productive. IT, Finance impacted too.
Two people I know who were laid off on 6/24, one had recently returned from maternity leave and another had previously been furloughed but had just recently changed positions a week prior to being furloughed. It seems that anyone "new" so to speak could be subject. Just my two cents.
"They are extending furlough for a good number, and then eliminating others. No rhyme or reason truly from who I have been speaking to who is close to it. If you are a favorite or someone who does not challenge strongly, you are safe."
Spot on and good to here that from someone else because I am in that situation. I have already contacted an attorney.

These posts ring so true with ARAMARK. There are some very intelligent people in the Corporate groups, no doubt, but no true leaders of people. Many act like consultants versus leaders. Decisions like the ones being made now based on nepotism mostly. There are high performers being released.
Agree with the other posters. Borderline mediocre employers are kept here because they have "potential" and/or meet a certain mid level managers "fit" (which usually means they do what they're told, are puppets, etc) while high performers who no longer fit culturally or financially are wiped because a pandemic makes their nefarious goals convenient.
This company has been tanking for years. Foss was an absolute joke. The new CEO has potential and credibility, but it's no longer a top level issue at Aramark. There's too much fat in middle management that needs to go, but won't. Loyal low to mid rank and file employees? Screwed.
Classic story that has been retold over and over again. Senior management needed to do what they needed to do for obvious reasons, but they put their trust in the mid tier management level to make the hard decisions and make their picks. More often than not, they target people they don't like and/or make too much $ because they know they can use "mass layoff" and the quick severance fix as cover.
It works because.....what is an employee in that situation supposed to do?
Nepotism well known with ARAMARK. Cultural.
Yes they did
And their selection process was very very suspicious
