What on earth makes you say PE? They're too scared of the environment and no one in their right mind would buy anyways. Don't hold on to lost hope, get out now.
There is nothing wrong with holding out till you have another job lined up.
Best thing to hope for us that they let you go 1 day after whatever RSUs are left to be issued. And have a new job to start the next week.
That said, none of the grunts are getting golden parachutes ... When the PE picks up the tab, expect major cuts - that's just how it works, folks.
Customers are dropping support like flies or only renewing for 1yr with the goal to deplatform and move to the cloud.
