EOA Promotions As Many Still Suffer

EOA has promoted several individuals across Ops and Finance to senior positions this week; some of those same self-absorbed people confirmed it with Linkedin notifications (clap clap).

This is absolutely pathetic during a time when the company has executed multiple mass layoffs and furloughed many hard working employees (who are sitting in the dark and no income) after COVID resulted in an unbelievable decline in lab orders. It is understandable that extreme revenue loss should result in cost cutting measures, but to promote people at the same time is not right.

This company historically has p-ss-d away money on excessive (borderline fraudulent) expenses and terrible mind-blowing acquisitions. If the company was smarter with money, then maybe it could have whethered the storm of 2020 without negatively impacting the lives of so many employees and their families.

You know it's bad when you can't even Speak to , or get a email returned from ANYONE at the corporate office. I have called over 6 times left vms. Emailed 3 or 4 different people . Not one response. They even told my co-workers they couldn't speak to me anymore and I did was get laid off from Covid. DONT WORK HERE... RUN , RUN AS FAR AWAY AS YOU CAN... No Future for you here just uncertainty

They can keep me in the dark for months about when or if I ever come back. Because payroll was too high. Right? Well they certainly had enough money while I was out to put in a state of the art CCTV system to make sure nobody is talking or taking a bathroom break when there not suppose too. WOW. Glad your VPs and execs can all buy new boats and Corvettes while the people that actually work get told to kick rocks . I busted my butt everyday thinking I was going somewhere. Well I did . Out the door. They pi** so much money away on junk rather than invest in their people . SMH

Amen! All Essilor Cares about are top executives! I am one of those hardworking people that is getting laid off tommorow as a matter of fact. On a Conf call ; not even in person. Our lab was bought by them 2 yrs ago , so I didn't even ask to be apart of their slave labor attitude. They have put a lot of great employees out on their butt with no disregard for their families (unless) you are one of the managers friends then you can eat lunch on the clock. You can come in late and leave when you want . This company flat doesn't care about people . You are just a production number . I was twice as fast as the old people , but they are buddies so they got to keep their jobs.

I was laid off. They put feelers out to hire me back a few months later. It would have been for way more money than I was making when I worked there. No thank you. I have seen the rot from within. I got off that sinking ship at just the right time. If you still work there my question to you is....why?

Its still shocks me there has been no feedback and people are getting promoted. There should be some form of communication (if there still is not). Promotions should've been held off until things go back to normal. I was one of the people who were laid off in may and I can say that I am glad that it did happen to me. Just stay positive more than anything!!

Thanks for your perspective @ajly+15EGPDn1. You are not alone in this many of us are in the same boat; eventhough as an individual it feels we are. COVID isolation doesn't help.

I agree with your comment about waste. I've seen enough money thrown away, in my own department, to have easily sustained 5 people with my salary for a year.

While I believe the furloughs and layoffs are "just business": I knew I was working for an ambitious (to put it kindly) corporation when I took the job. It is the lack of communication during this pandemic that I judge to be terrible business. This unnecessary mystery (cruelty) exposes disorganization and chaos that will repel talent.

How much does it cost to send an email once a month?
