Staples yes, was a good company. CE caused a lot of issues since that purchase went through. I think if that would never have happened Staples would have been better off, but too late now.

I'm confused. You came to the website THELAYOFF.com. Were you expecting flowerly BTS pom-poms and Go big red chants? Get off Staples d*ck. You're just their current prostitute of the week.

Not a hater....loved the company . As other poster said ....10 years ago it was a wonderful place to work. And so many talented people. 10 years ago .....let’s see . Was SP around then ? No.
This is not about SP. 10 years ago the company was run by a CEO who did not have the ability to weather the storm or work around the obstacles and continue to grow what TS had started . He was NOT CAPABLE. It really is that simple. As soon as the expense cuts began it was the beginning of the end of what was a phenomenal story. It is sad to see what has happened to a company that , not so many years ago, could do no wrong. Those were marvelous times , but they are over .

There is lots to hate. A company that had every hing going for it just 10 years ago was destroyed, not by economic conditions, but by c-ap management. Now SP simply feeds on the rotting carcass.

There is two different dynamics that hapened here.
The first is the fact the employees that have invested their lives to a company that had CARE VALUES for everyone invested in the future of the company went bankrupt when they acquired Corporate Express, Who was a failing corporation. The second was when Staples allowed the CE Management to make decisions after the takeover, CE Management destroyed the Staples CARE VALUES and created a viral environment between the sales teams and continued the disruption by changing accounts to different Sales Representatives. The teams of people that cared about each other turned into people that only cared about themselves was the result of the CE infusion. You call this "HATE C-ap".
You have no idea of the great group of dedicated STAPLES EMPLOYEES you're pissing off.

So pointless you are compelled to comment?

What a pointless thread this is. If you hate Staples, just leave. If you’re a former employee, move on already. The “good ole days” aren’t coming back for MANY companies anytime soon. The original poster got it right, just a bunch of haters.

These comments are not necessarily made by Staples haters. Many are made by people that remember what Staples used to be. There was once a strong culture, people used to matter, tenure and performance counted and Big Red was the best in the business. Those days are gone and they won’t be coming back. SP, Amazon and COVID may prove too much to overcome.

Let me just say, I work for a competitor and because of Staples changing reps on 90% of accounts...TWICE...in the last year, and these layoffs,...we are eating your lunch! IPO will come, PE will get their💰out and Chapter 11 will follow. Get off the ship now before the next wave of COVID or there will be no jobs left!
