Apache will, under current conditions, very soon be looking at an exhausted staff if it isn’t already. We’ve had years of talent walking out the door, promoting more to our manager ranks, laying off workers at the bottom, and then ceasing almost all hiring. What’s left? An organization (it seems like) comprising 3 or managers/directors/whatever to every one worker, on average.
The company needs to demote approx 70% of our managerial staff to “working” status so we don’t burn out. I am so bogged down by multiple projects that it’s impossible to do a thorough, good job in any one of them. It’s the classic analogy to the rowing team. We’ve got 2 oarsmen in the boat and 7 coxswains giving them row commands, and are still confused as to why we aren’t faster than crews stacked appropriately.
