We just wrapped up a call with our sales manager and director who both confirmed that the people impacted would receive an email Friday July 10th and be off Payroll within 14 days. They also informed us that our job title “could” change effective August 1st. No other information was shared. I work for the Fiber team in West Coast.

It s—s that this is happening, but honestly if you’re lazy, and have always taken your job for granted—as if you’ve deserved it, then so be it.
If you are declared surplus, you will get a phone call from your manager. They will not tell you why you are being cut. They will say something like “you have been affected”. Then, you will receive an email with information about your severance, benefits, etc. . From the moment you get your call, don’t lift a finger to train anyone or do any work, other than get all your ducks in a row. You should already have a plan since cuts are not new. You’re screwed if you don’t already have your debt retired and cash on hand to take care of your obligations. It will be too late when you get that call. You are being fired. It’s plain and simple. Life ain’t fair.
Collection dept? If they can get those jobs to India, they will soon. If they cant do that then you can expect a cut down to about 50, doing same workload overall as 120 last year. Sorry. Wall street must be served what they want. And they want heads to roll very soon.
Anyone know if collection employees getting surplused? Last year had over 120 in office, now 68 with same amount of work. Constantly cracking whip and saying upper management watching! Crazy!
Not true, cuts have not been independently done at VP level??
I think he said, two weeks because there won’t be any jobs for YOU to post on. If you get tapped, they want you out. Period. There ARE jobs and postings but anyone put on surplus’s won’t be eligible. Mark my words.
you are only given 2 weeks vs the 60 days because apparently no jobs are available. Then why do I keep getting emails with new job postings on a daily basis?
They have traditionally held a meeting in the morning those titles and locations impacted. They instruct theM to monitor their inbox an email. Around 2pm they host another meeting to announce that all email notifications have gone out. If you did not get one, you are good to go.
Email is possible but calls will be made by direct supervisor. Input, rankings, and questions have been asked regarding performance and value at each level. Whether that information is considered could be another matter.
email sounds appropriate because of covid.
I am on the Voice Cloud team supporting national business, I understand we will be impacted and hopefully will be assigned to the local regional teams team as mobility seller or fiber sellers.
@ywc+15JFUMKC definitely will be email, these cuts have all been done at VP level with no interaction from the other leaders, the VP team is not going to be calling and meeting with L3, L2, L1 resources, it will be an email to all impacted
Yeah, it won’t be an email. It’s never been done that way. But if it’s 50,000 people, I guess it’s possible.
I believe the date, but an email? That would put the company to new lows. What next? Lay-off by text?
