So two months ago I turned down an offer to move to Fiber team as they were only going to bring me on as a sales executive 1. Considering my CSE II salary vs fiber I passed on it. Now with all the rumors going around ( Solution Providers are going to make cuts deep within CSE title) I’m kicking myself in the butt for not jumping on opportunity. Is it fair to say fiber is safe from any cuts? Have you heard the same about CSE titles?

Cute theory @DALLAS, but they shook up most sales directors in the surplus at the end of last year. Honestly they need to just get rid of non sales people like SELs and SPMs. Most marketing and number crunching functions in Dallas are getting the boot.
The fiber build has been completed but yet it is not advertised in many markets. Why is this?, AT&T did a horrible job of covering areas of fiber much in the same way as the 5g build....designed to fail.
I would first look at where you stand in Direct percentage to quota. If you are in ACQ you might be offered a Fiber position if your direct numbers are good. If you are in Select you I would think top half would be safe... heck who knows at this point. Looks like you will find out on the 10th
Are there any benefits that the SPs bring to the table for CSEs and the larger teams? I know AT&T only pays them on sales, so overhead is cut, but do they help find and service more customers for the company as a whole?
Sounds like T might win if they only pay on sales... Thoughts?
you would think fiber would be safe at a telecommunications company. but no place is safe and att has too many mouths to feed.
How would a solution provider be making the deep cuts? Not all are exclusive to att, they advertise partnering with badged employees as a perk to becoming an sp, and they cant partner with mobility or fiber sales roles.
Fiber is one of the key strategic products outlined by leadership. I've heard that this next round-July 10th-15th depending on who is talking will impact AVPs, Directors, Sales Managers, SALs, & CSEs in NBS & GBS, consolidation and reducing the number of people touching accounts-especially those business's that are impacted by COVID. What I'm hearing is that depending on the module that AVPS-Directors & SALS in GBS may be offered a lower position AVP-moves to Director-Director to Sales Manager, etc, in the current GBS sales team model the SAL & CSE's are redundant in most accountsand it remains to be seen if the higher paid SALS will take the biggest hit or be asked to step down to a CSE role, with the CSE's being redundant and just an additional layer-that is being replaced by the dedicated mobility CSEs.
