Note that due to large number of surpluses across the whole company, different teams/orgs will get noticed on different dates, starting at the earliest on 7/10 through mid August, possibly into september as well.

"As an employee with over 20 years, layoffs have become an annual event,..".
It's a quarterly event now...
Wouldn't it be refreshing if the executives at the top would actually be honest with the employees and tell us that there will likely be a layoff that will impact about X% of the employees in the A, B, and C departments?
You know, actually give us some useful information instead of forcing us to come to a place like this filled with rumor, speculation, guessing, and way too much racism.
Nah. The guys running the deathstar know best. After all, their recent successes and accomplishments speak to their brilliance, right?
As an employee with over 20 years, layoffs have become an annual event, The rhythm use to be that you'd heard rumors in the summer, then by October most would know what was about to transpire then you'd get an very short notice (usually one day at most of a couple of hours at worst) email invite to be on a phone call -the invite was blind so you could not tell who else was cc'd. On the call a script would be read to all the participants advising if they were being laid-off, were safe, or if their fate was still to be determined. No Q&A-just if you have any questions please speak to your manager. This time things feel much different thought would expect that next week those email conf-call emails will start to go out.
If you come here often enough and gone through several surpluses then you can tell the difference between speculation versus actual leaks from leadership. Yes, this site has a boat load of c-ap but here and there is the truth.
I love how many people on this site know so much about dates and numbers. Where do I get my crystal ball? While yes surpluses are inevitable, I have seen countless posts of this date and that date which come and go without surplus. Funny how nobody posted about the closures of all those ATT stores and Cricket stores until it was formerly announced. Where were your predictions on that.
Everyone is so vague with there posts it’s laughable.
10s of thousands gone on February 30th 2021...because Trump is going to abolish leap years And just add a couple of days to February so it can feel included like all the other months and it will be a beautiful thing, it’s going to be great. The problem with adding those extra two days is that the executive team at ATT will be so thrown off by the change that they will have nothing else to do but surplus 10s of thousands. Yes I got this from an AVP in HR, on good authority.
AT&T is no more than a temporary gig with benefits.
Managers are regularly thrown out like the proverbial piece of garbage. Craft is surplussed as per the contract.
There is no career here. Unless you are one of the "chosen" you will eventually end up being thrown out like a piece of garbage one day on a 45 second phone call with several thousand others at the same time.
Layoffs will be occurring on an ongoing basis for the duration of your career at AT&T.
