Thread regarding Apache Corp. layoffs

I agree with @5gdw+15KljtUn. If you prefer the comfy sinecure, are you much better than the management that gets away with claiming your work as their own, making poor investments (AH), tanking stock prices?

Will swindling not be easier for them under the cover of password-only soon meetings?

Who is worried about this? How many of you really want to stay at this outfit, once things loosen up elsewhere. No more “golden handcuffs”. Stock to $12.

Eh, depends on what you value I guess. I understand wanting those free Friday afternoons. The WFH aspect would still make that possible. If you’ve been glued to your computer at home this entire time, you’re an absolute psychopath.

I just would prefer an extra hour of time in the mornings each day. 7:30 is an early start if you’re wanting to workout, have breakfast, and shower before getting in. And I don’t even have kids to tend to.

For me that plan is a hell NO, Anonymous. I love being able to take off for a weekend at a lake or even just do banking and stuff on Friday afternoons.

My proposal is to make Friday a full, 8-hour day, but also a WFH day permanently.

This frees up an extra hour for us the other 4 days of the week and probably wouldn't really change our Fridays that much. Those 4 hours in our jeans are a wash anyway, and everyone knows it.

Yeah, if we get to WFH permanently, my morale will MASSIVELY improve, and I wouldn't even take interviews form other companies when the price comes back (unless they offered full or greater WFH)

Op, are you not worried that working from home will allow executives to continue to squander APA’s assets, personnel, etc.? That it will become more difficult to see larger scales flaws that would have been noticed in a more public office setting?

I mean, working from home is nice, and currently necessary, but in the long run do you not fear it may give executives even more leeway to misbehave?

I haven’t worked from home once yet. Was told even if I get the virus I sill still be expected to come to work! I’ll just stay in the field and not interact with anyone. I’ve also not had my temperature checked one time entering the field office. Personally seen member of the safety department walking around without masks. Trying to cut cost but now ordering 2 different versions of face masks with the Apache logo. It’s all Lip Sevice

Most little companies that are struggling are allowing workers to work from home. There are no rigs in the US, so nothing to see/do here. Why pay rent, too?
I’m just suggesting that the actions in this case are likely not based in a pro employee mindset.
