You know that feeling you have when you go swimming in a lake or pond and you can't wait to go home and shower to get all the slime off of you?
That's what it feels like after you listen to one of his all-hands presentations.
Nabil is a snake oil salesman. I didn't know him at Extreme as I was only there a short time, but I did know him from Brocade and we had major product problems with first gen IP Fabrics (EVPN) and he just swept them under the rug. He told us to sell what we had even though we couldn't point to any customer who could get it working in production. Brocade DC networking went from being near the leaders section of the Gartner DC networking chart to the niche player, not visionary, and not likely to execute area of the chart while it's been under his watch at Extreme. Essentially the BU he has been in charge of has done nothing of note for almost 3 years and has actually regressed. I have no idea why Extreme leadership thought he would be a solid choice for CTO.
What happened to Eric Brookman? Pushed out or left voluntarily?
whats his track record? last time i checked the companies hes been elevated to C-level have been stagnant and eventually sold off in pieces. Also, if they're moving to the cloud, can anybody tell me where his cloud experience is? I havent seen it.
