I just got laid off today by Ryder as a CSC. A technician at my facility also got laid off. The manager said it was due to Covid 19 and it’s effect on the business. They allegedly knew I was going to get laid off a couple of weeks back but waited until after I ran the shop for a week (I was a CSC not a supervisor) while the manager was on vacation before they pulled the trigger on me (on my work anniversary no less). In addition, I’m in the midst of chemotherapy treatment for my cancer. This leaves a huge sour taste in my mouth. I’ve lost all respect for Ryder. Be warned, get out while you still can!

Sorry to hear. As a former employee you’re just a number. You will find out that the grass is greener. Prayers for recovering from cancer coming your way.
was furloughed from ryder april 3,2020. as a Service employee, parts shop guy as well. supposed to come back june 30,2020. then got pushed ahead until july31, ultimately the furlough turned into a layoff. ryder was a decent company, but i feel the COVID situation has impacted this business greatly, also there financial projections heading into march 2020, 1s400%t quarter were down NET almost 400%. i was probably one of the last people hired in march. sometimes life throws you lemons. JUST make Lemonade.
