Thread regarding Dean Foods Co. layoffs

Mass firings at my location for bogus reasons. Getting replaced with new hires.

A rash of firings at my location. Some are valid others are almost bogus and made up. We lost 12 guys here in the last 2 weeks. Immediate replacement with temp to hire guys. This is terrible and we are way behind on production.

Any other locations getting a house cleaning?

So DFA is already cutting jobs. Didn't we go through this with Dean Foods- first job cuts, then closings, then outsourcing, then more cuts, then more closing, then DFA.
Forcing retirements is a good way to get an age discrimination suit filed against you.
Doubt there are any good lawyers in Le Mars though as the majority of legal work would be as a public defender of blue collar criminals- not any money in that.

Le Mars is the best of the best. Anyone else is not even on our level. Management forced guys to retire and jobs were cut down to help with reorganization into DFA proposal.

That’s TEN ELITE dairy soldiers taken out in LeMars! Was there a clandestine Blue Bunny raid that wiped them out ha ha?

LeMars can probably only take on the work of 80 other plants now instead of 100.

They can't be laying off in Le Mars. All I hear is how much work there is and that the workers are all super heroes. Truly a sad day for all americans.

90% of management at the plants should be wiped out. Most are worthless

Here comes the giant broom to clean house. Hope they start with management.

What's going on? Cleaning house. Easiest way to cause the least disruption but hire your own staff is to do it in phases. Get rid of the ones that are trouble or who aren't going to help train replacements, gradually keep letting people go, bringing new people in and training them, and within a couple of years you have all new employees without ever causing disruptions to the customers.

12 guys??? That’s nothing compared to my plant. We have lost 28 in the past month. Either QUIT, Forced to RETIRE or FIRED.

It is definitely a pain in the butt training all these high school kids and foreign temp workers. Believe me.
