Thread regarding Symantec Corp. layoffs

Broadcom effect.

Symantec was a great Company. broadcom destroyed everything. broadcom is not a company, they work more like an investment found. no ethics, no mission, only profit.

Exactly, I fully agree:
"That is Hok's stategy. This is why he bought CA, because he wanted the Mainframe business that has loads of customers that would not be able to move to other vendors. he said that on his own all hands, he would just charge them whatever he wants and they have to take it. He is not interested in small or medium sized accounts, he doesn't negotiate. Its take it or leave it."

Take your severance and run away

Symantec was indeed a great company. However, frequent mergers and constant changes in management direction over the past few years have weakened that Golden Standard considerably. Everything in your description about Broadcom was already in place at Symantec, way before their acquisition. Therefore, Broadcom has to happen. It's merely a blown-up manifestation of that rot already set in Symantec years ago.

Fully agree, didn't expect things might got so bad for us and especially our customers. Cutting (paid) services to some of them, while simply increasing prices for others when they can't move off (yet).
Give it 1-2 years and they'll all be gone.
