Staples has been laying off people in all departments and they are still on hiring spree. How's that working out? especially in IT, they have let go of many people in past and they are still continuing to release new offers and new positions? are lot of people leaving Staples? is it worth joining Staples?

Most of these comments are 100% untrue, clearly written by bitter people.
Putting an attorney in a sales leadership role was an interesting move. Probably smart- can control what they pay HIM(well under 50) and get legal advise at a reduced rate to deal with all of the lawsuits that will surely be coming their way. Ageism is a thing, and that’s discrimination someone should be talking about, been happening for a very long time and significantly ramped when Sycamore came in. Women are also still very much the minority in management roles and take a look at their pay compared to the males.
Must agree with the comment on age. If you are in your 30’s or younger, you should be fine. If you are over 50 beware. Just look at the recent outside hires and internal promotions versus the 5 RVP’s that were terminated.
Does anyone know if Staples has changed it’s severance policy for employees on furlough?
Stay away especially if you are at a stable company right now.
If you are under or in your 30’s yes. Over 50 beware
How's their online retail doing these days? and the IT teams working behind online/digital transformation? are they also getting laid off?
Run and don’t look back. There is no direction and prioritization from leadership beyond ‘do everything.’ Any idea from anyone with director or VP in their title gets done and all support resources are strained to try and catch up. It’s nonstop directionless work while they try to grasp at straws. You will be thankful you stayed away.
