I’m happy to see some of the awful leadership that has been let go. Goodbye awful beauty regional “manager” that only spoke to the associates that were doing well, and never wanted to empower and motivate the ones that needed it. Glad to see people like her go. Southern California beauty associates will not miss you!

@ Hihi. Company wide. The percentage of cuts depend on what area. The only level exempt is the C level.

Cut 80% tech and outsource to EPAM or parts of Africa - labor cost is cheap. Way to save money. TPM - cut the lot. PM - cut anything above senior. Architects - reinterview them.
i worked for almost 9 years. did a coding bootcamp and was still denied to move up. glad i left.
My department had a 30% layoff quota.
Tech is still hiring. Go do some coding course or sign up for code boot camp. We are looking for right talent. Will give you a sign on bonus.

I left a couple weeks ago knowing this would happen. Nordstrom, and luxury retail in general, is a sinking ship. Even people who were spared this lay-off probably won’t survive the next round or the round after that. It’s not going to get better.
Good news is that there’s tons of places hiring FTEs in Seattle right now that pay better than Nordstrom and aren’t in a dying industry. Jump ship now and watch the dumpster fire from a distance.
Oh my. TPMs were useless back when I was there. And they stuck with this model?
Once we almost stumbled upon an effective approach to developing software and deploying systems at old Nordstrom, but other teams smelled a threat to their little fiefdoms, and they quickly ganged up to quash it. We tried.
If the headcount is as high as suggested on Blind, 50%+ staff cuts and a harsh reorg are in order.

Tech has a special bonus coming in July or Aug. This could be for some restricted group of folks to retain them. Varies from 10-40%.

Many of the jobs not being eliminated are having the salaries reduced .
Many have jobs being eliminated as a form of payback by bosses. Their jobs will be reinstated in a couple of months but with outsides or as a reward to insiders.
I got the news this morning. 20% of my team is leaving
