Just to let you know what type of company we work for. I am an ASM at our store. Recently a white ASM made many negative comments about a POC DMs hair. Such as “is it real? Can I touch it? Why is it curly naturally?” This DM has also received a watermelon pillow as a present in the past among many other stories that she was to shook to tell me. I spoke with my fellow ASM about it and was told “why can’t she act like another DM who is black bc that person stays in line. [email protected]&( she stopped herself before finishing) always want to make trouble” I went to our SM who told me not to bring it up any longer because “if it bothers her she can do something about it” I’ve since spoken with several other associates who have similar stories. During this time I believe if you have any type of privilege you have to speak up. The problem is that it’s falling on deaf ears. I sent out an email to our DM,RM and regional HR but have gotten no response. Our CEO might be a POC but I am not sure our stores got the memo.

HR is useless. lowes is the most unethical company i have ever seen. they are fine with paying lawsuits so document and sue/

Good luck getting a response. Most of Region 8’s market staff are good for nothing especially HR.
Call EEOC, call the corporate HR hotline to file an anonymous complaint. I bet people will start paying attention.
Same sh– in my store. An ASM called a Cashier “nappy-headed witch”. A white Cashier yelled at him for being so offensive and she was fired for insubordination. I hope they both sue.
EEOC. Hostile work environment. Then, any local news or activists.
