Is this question a wind up? What has it got to do with layoffs? Assuming it's genuine, then it actually says a lot about the company, ie lack of communication of procedures; initiative; and managerial oversight. Beggar's belief!

Why ask this question on a layoff site instead of asking your manager or following the clear communication provided by HR?

Always remember hassle with home kit when I had a member of my team who was contacting and working from home in the uk.
He moved to Australia and continued to work in my team for 18 months. He worked from 4pm to 1am at home in Oz and this matched 4am to 1pm local time for rest of team. This worked well.
Anyway he found a job with normal hours in Oz and left TR.
Desktop wanted his laptop returned. I explained he was now in Oz and model type was now a bit old in the tooth. Nope we want it back ....so what will you do with it ?
Oh put it on the sc-ap pile , but we need to tick off asset as returned.
Ok.
So I got a cost of shipping with tracking from Australia to uk and sent them an email asking for their cost centre to charge shipping to.
Never heard anything again after that 😂

Majority of companies distribute working equipment via couriers. In ours we need to carry those on our backs. That is so ridiculous.
