So after a few hours to digest my job loss today, I am relieved to not have the worry and uncertainty linger over me. Going into the job market isn’t appealing but it has to be better than remaining at Staples where the workload is unbearable with no recognition or opportunities for promotion. I truly believe it’s a blessing. Hope everyone else sees hope in their future. Best of luck everyone!

Oh excuse me...the layoff blog supposed to be a motivational site now? Sounds like Mr Positivity is Staples lifer with limited options. Hope they call you back...somebody got to be there to turn off the lights.
So much negativity here.
Someone that was laid off 4 years ago still checking this blog? - time to move on friend
Someone else who has been waiting for 18 years to be laid off? I am sure you will do great in the job market if your motivation takes 18 years to wait for something to happen to you. I don't recall seeing any chain on my desk forcing me to stay at any job. Good luck and happy hunting in this economy.
I am with the most recent poster. I have been at staples for many years, I enjoy the people I work with, and I hope to have my position restored. At the end of the day though Staple is a business like any other. Its not personal. Its financial.
I am missing my teammates very much. Been with them for 19 years. I have been laid off from April 10th. If I don’t get recalled I will be devastated.
I can not agree with you more. I was laid off as well, 18 years... I cannot wait to start something new. I was so tired and worn out, no room for advancement and poor leadership. One can only take so much. Best of luck!
I feel relieved as well.. finally free from that horrid environment for good !
I felt great when I quit this miserable place in 2016. my backstabber manager asked if I was sure.
I laughed and handed him my badge and laptop.
It was huge relief to be away from that den of snakes.
