Thread regarding Enbridge Inc. layoffs

Opinions on Enbridge and Native Americans?

Personally, I feel Enbridge is hypocritical in claiming to be sympathetic to Native American issues, while at the same time were complicit in the abuse of protesters at Standing Rock.
Does anyone share this belief?
Does anyone else have difficulty with the morality of that situation?

Legacy union lost our top guy when it came to Indigenous relations thanks to the walk out all the knowledge buy out packages. Can’t blame him though

The relationship with indigenous people is more difficult now due to Canada fully adopting UN indigenous guidelines. It has nothing to due with one specific company such as Enbridge. Anytime you have to negotiate over any land issues it is more complicated than in the past. Add in groups like Sierra Club and dealing with any landowner has become more challenging both in the US and Canada.

Organized groups are not helping any relationships that were once easy and fair to all landowners.

Enbridge has no relationship with indigenous people. In fact, most will ask that they leave their land if they are from Enbridge. It’s unfortunate because Union Gas had an amazing relationship and employees who worked with the indigenous people. Again... Enbridge only cares about the dollar ... not people.
