Hi all you old farts getting the boot from CDW, come on over to GHA Technologies Inc, We have the same authorizations as CDW but without the BS, you work from home, keep your CDW book, None compete agreements are NOT enforceable in almost every state, they try and scare you with that, ignore them. I'm the VP of Sales at GHA, we are hiring like crazy, don't miss out, contact me if you're interested. [email protected]
GHA Technologies is always looking for good sales people. Age isn't a factor. Motivation and sales skills are. You can make a good 6 figure income at GHA.
just go work for GHA Tech... bring your books lol
Of the list I was provided: of 1042 positions/ individuals, 9 were let go. All 9 were over 40 and are within EEOC's protected age class. No one below 40 years old was let go. Of the 9: 2 were in their 40s, 4 in their 50s; 3 in their 60s. Looks like an "age preference" to me...
I was laid off too. I had outstanding reviews, well respected by my peers and my work was considered highly valuable. The only thing I can had working against me was age. Over 20 years of dedicated work, and I was put put on an iceberg. Most of my contemporaries who were also laid off are around the same age.
I was old i was slow but I was a hard worker 21 years at cdw
The way they chose the people was wrong, there is people that have been writing up for s-xual harassment and racial issues and didn’t even get touch .
Curious how many that were let go participated in the recent "Confidential" or "Anonymous" employee engagement survey and were less than positive about management in their comments . . .
How about being 160+ % of plan in 2020 and múltiple President’s Club Trips in 7 eligible years? In a fairly new territory to boot. Nothing personal right ? Take the field out because you can’t make in person calls ?
Moving onto the next great place. Great company, but unfortunate ending.
Not all layoffs were performance based. My reviews were rock solid & I was well respected by my team & those I supported. I can't speak for all affected, but on my team it was LIFO. Very sad.
I was on a team of 8 co-workers and 3 of us were laid off - all 60 yrs and older.
Sure keep selling that story. It is just funny to me. People that are posting that are not part of the lay-offs and saying a company line. Unless you are in the other end of the lay-offs and impacted the story is different. Keep drinking the koolaid. Take a good look in the mirror your next. There will be a round two. If you doubt me look at you q3 data CDWers. If they did target a protected class. Which it wouldn’t surprise me. It needs to get reported federally. Make sure you do your part to stop age discrimination at CDW.
Most of the layoffs were performance based or due to obsolete jobs. More than half of the people cut are being back filled.
It appears CDW has an issue with age discrimination. It appears that a majority of employees let go this week where near or over 50 years of age. Those of you that have received top bonuses and only have had positive reviews should consider a class action lawsuit. Just saying
I am sure they told each of you that you have no legal rights if you accept a severance but peeps you do EEOC is at the Federal level. Check it out https://www.eeoc.gov/filing-charge-discrimination
Stand up for yourselves, companies like CDW need a wake up call
I found out my inside sales rep that I had been sending mail to this morning is no longer there. The new rep decided it would be appropriate to tell me during a pre-sales call. I hope he gets credit for the $12k I spend with him on Monday.
Bad management is like bad defense
Ya don’t win on the team of s—y managers
Was laid off yesterday.. quick call, very scripted.. was told my skill set doesn’t match what they’re looking for.. I was 106.8% combined attainment in over 3 years prior to March’s pandemic, selling into SMB, in a territory that covered a state with the tightest restrictions.. I spoke about career advancement 2 years ago speaking about my desire to move into the channel and support CDW, and received no help.. I also received no accounts from that point forward.. channel partners are afraid to hire CDW talent as CDW feels it’s poaching.. I was told this by 2 large partners.. I was actually advised by a director of sales for a partner to leave CDW for 6 months and come back to apply because they can’t hire direct from CDW.. this is a blessing in disguise for me, but unsettling it’s only a 2 months worth of pay for a severance package and a scary job market given the circumstances.. they feed everyone their KoolAid and only offer a select few the opportunity to eat at the table, the rest beg for sc-aps..
I know of a pre sales data center engineer with the company for 12 years who was just laid off. Dude is still recovering from a nasty case of covid. ☹️
I am hoping that you can help me, I am doing a research paper on companies that have laid-off employees during the pandemic. I am not looking for any personal information just an idea of the age of the employees laid off. If you have been laid off by CDW can you share your age and years with the company?
Thanks in advance,
Has anyone been laid off at corporate?
Let's hope they focused on those who got sub-par performance management scores. Never hurts to clear out the C-players and D-players. CDW tends to be a little too nice sometimes and doesn't push under-performers out of the business in a timely fashion.
In Canada we saw professional services, managed services and solution architects affected, possibly others.
Before laying off more coworkers, they may want to clean out the deadwood of management that has been around for years and doesn't do anything more than treat the good coworkers like mushrooms.
can anyone say what dep't they worked in?
Can confirm, got laid off at 130pm central
Can confirm, we were just told all areas of the company were affected including sales and warehouse. They employ roughly 9900 employees, 2% would be about 200, which is only slightly more than they laid off in 2009, although the company was much smaller than. As a shareholder and employee I find it crazy that they wouldn’t suspend their dividend before lay off’s.
About 9000 in 2018. Probably closer to 10000 now. ~200 people laid off today.
How many employees are there?
I know it was not a easy decision. They care about all their employees.. We will all Rise Again
