Kohl’s has way too many high level people commanding large salaries making cost cutting decisions to save their own bonuses. I’ve seen the president and her marketing minions completely redecorate their corporate offices to the tune of hundreds of thousands of dollars, but can’t even give a decent raise to the folks who get the day to day work done. It’s quite pathetic. Hey president, why don’t you consider cutting some of your EVPs and SVPs who don’t do anything...maybe you can cut 2-3 of them for the same cost as 50 regular employees?

Too many so called managers that do nothing but surf the web on their phones. any get paid top salaries and have no real prior experience or education. Example being .com call center fuller, omg the absolute worst.
Kohl's downfall started after Larry Montgomery retired. Kevin Mansell was a lack-luster President, and his darling Michelle is even worse. No big shock that the company is in tatters. Corporate big wigs used to mock other floundering retailers and brag about how Kohl's was so much better. Not much to brag about now as Kohl's is now a retailer that is circling the drain.
I too was a long-timer at Kohl’s corporate, but I left the company in 2019 when I accepted the early retirement that was offered to hourly associates.
The writing was already on the wall then that more labor cuts would come. I remember a leaner more agile Kohls that was considered retail’s darling for its cost-conscious operating philosophies. Then the layers of management were added. And added. And added. And with this week’s round of staff reductions, I wonder how much longer the Kohl’s house of cards will last. Sad.
Worked for this company for 20 years so I am emotionally attached. Lots of wrong decisions being made. Feel bad because it was a great place to work. CEO has not done much truly. Time for a new one!!!
right on! Totally agree!
