I wonder if Staples is going to get rid of all outside AM and outside sales? I know some managers have just hired outside B2B but I find it very odd that there are no jobs for outside sales on the job board! Any thoughts?

KAM's are valuable. TAM's on the other hand. Well, when you hire 25 year olds just out of college with no sales experience you reap what you sow. You need to hire experienced salespeople. Not just take a chance on someone that fits a quota. These positions could all be shifted to the inside with an outside AE to assist.
Good salespeople do make a difference. The website certainly does not impress when you compare to Amazon or Walmart.
90% of the sales staff is pointless. How many people need to help enter paper sales on a website.
Great point. Staples does need the KAMs. It means more when a KAM can tell a customer, in person, I am sorry we need to raise your prices, will not be honoring our contract and your backorders have been cancelled.
KAM position is still very much needed to serve the Fortune 500. Don’t see much need for the TAM role. Performance has never been strong with that group.
I can see a day when all TAM/KAM positions are eliminated all together
