Time like this I think everyone can understand layoff is imminent, the whole c-sino industry is bleeding money. Bally is not as bad as most of you made it sound, but I do agree, the big problem throughout the whole organization is middle management, product managers, and a lot of CPMs. Never seen so many unqualified, nontechnical skilled people holding positions that require technical backgrounds. And a lot of middle management just play favoritism, the very sign of unhealthy company culture.
I come here to find out news on layoffs. Sadly, company doesn't communicate any information, so this is how we can learn. The whining is inappropriate for this forum and should be done elsewhere - please.

So when is someone going to cut the meat that is under the SVP of Operations (VP and Director levels)? Look at who you want leading the company - production, purchasing and sales operations.
Someone needs to cut the extra inept members of finance also - all coming from Bally times
I agree with the comments above about Bally being the most toxic bunch. That group (from a management down to a developer level) was often the most inexperienced, lacked teamwork and took a lot of shortcuts.
Had SG just left good companies alone (looking at you, WMS and SHFL), they would be thriving today. Those two companies had a terrific culture and you could tell just had an overall deeper commitment to quality. SG literally destroyed three companies, ruined jobs and destroyed cultures.
But sadly that is just the corporate American way.
The company you originated with does not matter. What matters is if you are skilled and knowledgeable enough to carry out the functions of the position(s). Bally, Williams, Shuffle, nor SG can say that they all had perfect staff, however, more toxicity has plagued the company coming out of Bally. Remaining management needs to lead or get out
I’m having a problem with all the bad mouthing going on about Bally. Prior to SG going into enormous debt to purchase Bally, we were doing great. High moral, great financials, hard work was recognized and rewarded. We even had office supplies, and a scheduled replacement of technology like laptops and cell phones. Then came the buyout. All of those previous advantages disappeared. Overnight. And a never ending series of layoffs began to try and cut enough costs to pay the debt. And the leadership has been replaced too many times to count.
I wish SG would divest itself of gaming and go back to doing lottery, where their loyalties lie, and let the professionals that know how to do gaming, get back to doing it.

If you are reading all of the comments, please cut the remaining Bally Directors and VPS as they have truly brought down the good ship that was WMS, Shuffle and SG with tainted visions, falsifying numbers and the value of staff they protect has sung the SG ship like the titanic.....Plus you have people placed into positions with no knowledge of the job or management experience - only basis is a friendship and a large dose of favoritism; Have you wondered ever have a VP and a Director are promoted with no operations or sales knowledge who were in Engineering/background not operations or sales. How can a large organization allow an Engineer to direct the flow of what takes place at SG in Operations, Manufacturing and Sales Operations. Wake some time to look at Project Management as it is poorly ran department with more Bally's management that is worthless. Save money and cut more than 70% of the remaining staff and see some gains financially and productively. Have you seen what your EVP/ VPS have done for SG for Sales? The numbers are not being reported downstream accurately and havent been for over 12 years. Someone needs to dig deep and investigate the bias in the Sales area and patting the numbers
Please wake up and know the staff that was once Bally's and those brought in with them are toxic and need to be removed and not trusted. Enough poor choices have been made and pockets lined for little to no work.
Save the sinking SG Ship.
Please cut VPs in Projevt Management, Game Dev, Engineering...to many VPs. Company is top [email protected]@
Bally Managers, sr. Managers /Directors level must be trimmed off from the US/Canada services team for better visibility of workload and better future of the company , they are occupant of several years by not adding any value to the SG and playing with false projection to the management and promoting regionalism. It's a due season to sack them out from SG. SG must take control of the Bally VP/Director/Managers.
service department definitely just confirmed the layoff, was told to keep our headdown, so no one know how many.
Any word on a count or what departments were heavily affected by today's layoffs?
