Thread regarding Sungard Availability Services layoffs

is tomorrow another Layoff ?

I'm guessing so since there have been moves in the PODS. Is it CR or PUNE or US or all three. Keep your head up and watch out.

You know sg has a big collective of industry professionals who have individually invested 20+ yrs of their lives in this organisation. I find it amazing that so many of these undervalued, permanently at risk it professionals rack up 15, 20, 25 and some times 30yrs. Is truly an amazing feat of dedication and perseverance by all of these individuals. You are all amazing.

However, it’s only fellow sg employees that show their gratitude to this pool of talent.

The company would have you out in a heart beat. Either offshored, rif’d, constructively pushed or whatever underhanded move they can pull to get you out as cheaply as possible.

Don’t be fooled for one second by the ‘ continuous turnaround/revamp/jump start/new beginnings ‘ stories. Same stores, different story tellers.

If your holding out for the pay off. It will be a week for every year of service you have completed plus your notice period. Makes sense to play the waiting game if you have served a chunk of time.

However, if you are under 5 yrs at sg, get out as quickly as possible. Trust me when I say their is no turnaround. Just ask our customers what they think.

Yeah the market is topsy turvy, stagnant and volatile at the same time; but waiting for the firing squad to call out your name cannot be a healthy place to work.

Hilarious that OPG’s previous post was deemed too controversial and pulled down by the website.....

You hear that, OPG? Many of us just want off the ship. How can any company with a bright and positive future (as you say), have an army of employees begging for a layoff? Spin it, OPG!

There is a whole army of us that are hoping we are next.

Show me the money and I will make my own way out.

Very accurate to compare SGAS leadership and Sears leadership.

Just as with Sears, a significant indicator there is a real problem can be seen when you are not allowed to speak "certain phrases" in meetings with the senior LT as it will draw their wrath or to suggest anything constructive that might deviate from that exec's "vision". In doing, so they effectively shut down any ideas that might, at one time, have been worth considering because "they knew better than anyone else" what needed to be done.

Average SG leadership meeting:

We are screwed let’s just cost cut and ride this as long as possible.
