I read the cheerleading description not as a comment on physical appearance but as sycophancy.
HR are the worst, regardless of what they look like.
Way to overreact.
This is sickening... whatever you think of the system/supervisor picking on someoneās appearance really shows your true colors.
Refrain from personal attacks.... and check your grammar!
Iām honestly disgusted that this anonymity has empowered people to attack individual employees and their appearances. #admin please remove the posts calling out specific employees by name.
@2apr @whg How about we refrain from picking on individualsā physical appearances and stick to the real issues.
Biggest mistake you could ever make is go to HR to complain about a supervisor. This happened to me in a smaller company and I learnt my lesson. I was put on PIP too and the story was manipulated to find faults about me. I never did this ever since. Just deal with it and jump jobs or companies. Its not worth it.
Interesting, I went to HR last year for the first time in 20+ years regarding an abusive & manipulative supervisor, guess what! Pip'd. I guess it's true when they say that HR is there to protect the company, not advocate for employees.
Donāt worry about HR, 99% of their jobs will end up in a GBC pretty soon, so PIP or not their future is pretty grim.
@alr - HR is definitely not paid on par with an Engineer. Company has 3 salary tiers. Top is Geoscience and Upstream, second is Downstream, IT, some others, and last is HR, Controllers, and others.
Our site's HR lead was required to produce multiple Union-negative statements during recent negotiations regarding equivalent family-leave and health coverage for Union-represented. She complied readily. Human Residue.
Oops - guess you know I ain't in Texas.
Are HRs paid equal to an engineer ? That could be a reason if they're not laid off.
HR is at the very bottom of the totem pole at this company, they work exclusively to protect company interests.
I had a similar experience as Twilight Zone. I went to local HR in late 2019 to discuss an issue concerning my new supervisor. Come January 2020, there was a sudden shift in his opinion of my performance. After multiple nit-picky discussions about procedure/email wording along with missed supervisor-set deadlines (but not āāmissedā based on monthly requirements), I packed up and left. Iām sure I would have been PIPād had I stayed.
I went to HR Nov. 2019 regarding a legitimate concern I was having. The very next morning I got called into my supervisors office where I was told I **** him over (this issue wasnāt even about him BTW). Fast forward to July 2020.......guess who got PIPed!!! Iām sure that itās just a mere coincidence, especially since I had zero indication this was coming, Iāve been given zero feedback of why, and that I do great work with a high level of technical expertise! Another thing I find interesting is how people in meetings close all the table mics, close there laptops, and scan the room before saying anything...
Wow good question. Iāve seen this HR role that seriously doesnāt nothing but flies around to give workshops thatās honestly does not aid much.. frankly.. Best role to be in!
Will be funny, in fact necessary to PIP these guys to give us something beneficial to make EM great again!
