Thread regarding Quest Software Inc. layoffs

400 laid off today at Quest

This company is a dumpster fire now. Quest used to have a great reputation as a software leader with quality support teams. Now they are just garbage. What a shame. Ever since Francisco Partners and Elliot Management took over in 2016 it has been all downhill. There is no more innovation and customers are lucky if they even get a call back when they call for support. OK - it's not that bad but a customer would be fortunate to get a call back from someone who knows how to do more than search their knowledgebase for an answer...to save a few bucks they will probably have convicts doing phone support soon....

I am one of the top support staff and did see quality people be laid off . eventually i was scared of the CEO and started looking out for jobs before my turn comes for being fired and managed to get off quest on 2021 July .

It was one of the great company to work with , until the current CEO who started layoff.

I was caught in another round of layoffs this quarter. Saw it was coming. Stayed to try to help my team members as long as I could. The CEO is the quintessential hatchet man. He will never lead or innovate, he will only follow through on the only directive I had for the last year which was "cut costs". Quest, at this point is just a pile of tech debt and software that was good 20 years ago.

Well well well..seems like a conflict of interest and IMHO goes against all that ethics and code of conduct training they use to make mandatory for all employees.

Guess that’s why they stopped that training. That or it got too expensive.

They outsourced support to Accolite. Look on the board of directors. Anyone look familiar? https://accolite.com/board-members.html

They fired mostly Americans and replaced with outsourced foreigners and a fraction of the price.

A lot of good people left when it was taken over by DELL, even more left shortly after it went Private, of their own volition.
They saw what was on the cards and left before the ship went down for the last time.

How they think anyone who has been with the company for more than 3 years would think that a new tag line and another restructuring was going to lead to anything is beyond me. If you can’t generate sales your problems go beyond anything a new tagline and rebranding can save.

Personally I have had enough. Tried of always having to worry about how this company is doing this quarter or if layoffs are coming or listening to more Happy talk Company conference calls while they plan the next round of work force reductions no one sees coming cause “we did so well this quarter” I am getting out as fast as I can.I suggest any Quest employees reading this do the same.

Anyone left should now know beyond a doubt your leadership has failed. 4 years they have owned the company and done nothing. Complete failure to even maintain the company let along grow it. They failed to find a buyer, which I assume is still their goal today, failed to grown the company despite their numerous plan and restructuring, and now have even failed to keep their customers in mind when restructuring for what may be the 3rd time in 4 years.

Quest is done.

Yes very sad. Some top quality support staff are being let go and I’m sure quality people in other areas too.

All that experience being let out the doors, shows they aren’t customer facing any more.
